Our story

We are a small female owned and operated company with a conscience; the health and environmental impact of the food we consume is very important to us. 

Our business was born of our shared passion for creating nutritious, sustainable and wholesome food because we know how tough it can be to make food choices that are convenient, healthy, and environmentally friendly. 

At D8, we are committed to making ethical choices that are good for our customers, our community and the environment. 


“I grew up in a household in which my mother cooked every meal from scratch and as a Food and Nutrition teacher, she ensured that all of our meals were full of goodness.

Moving into my teen and university years, all of that training was abandoned. Living on quick and convenient sustenance, I bought cheap, plentiful and easily available food focusing more on the quantity rather than the quality.

In the years since then I have taken great care to understand how the food I choose impacts my body and how the pounds I spend affect the environment. This journey has led to the creation of a delicious range of pioneering date butters that are good to the body and good to the earth.”
